 Mood Board for our chosen music: The Neighbourhood - Wires

"Help me kill the president"

For this sentence, I've chosen an image of Donald Trump and someone holding a knife. This means that the character is capable of doing these which shows how mad the character is and how he is not normal.

"We talked about making it

I'm sorry that you never made it

And it pains me just to hear you have to say it"

For this sentence, I've used an image of two male characters as well as an image of "mistake" and Anakin Skywalker to that his friend, acknowledging, that he made a mistake, by doing the wrong thing. At the end he had to admit that what he did was wrong, and his friend, the narrator, feels kind of bad about it.

"The wires got the best of him"

For this sentence, the phrase "Wires" could be a metaphor in which could describe it as dirty/ evil which is taking over the man who is trying to become successful. This also shows that he was once a good person and had talent and now everything is vanishing away after what he has done. The images that show this in my mood board is the image of Anakin Skywalker, the "Evil" image and the image of a evil creature as a shadow for that person as well as the image of a persons head of knowledge and Albert Einstein. 

"It kills me to know you have been defeated"

For this sentence, this represents how his actions that he has performed in his past and how those bad things he did took over him. This can also show that how his good manners and talent has vanished after he did what he did. Again this links to the images that I've provided fits well with Anakin Skywalker.

"It killed you like diseases"

For this sentence, this friend knows that this obsessions are killing him on the inside. That took over his body and mind and metaphorically "killed him". Also when diseases have already taken over someone's body is very hard to treat them. The image that links well to this sentence would be the disease image.

"I'd say he needs medicine"

Fore this sentence, this could show that his friend is telling him that he is crazy and has lost his mind and mostly also saying to stop doing this as it is getting worse for yourself. This links well to the medicine image.

"Sick of screaming, let us in"

For this sentence, this shows how hungry he was to become a successful person however, he was becoming crazy for it that he became getting tired of trying. Trying to get in, to become it, everything he dreamed about. This links well to an image of a guy being crazy whilst holding his head and of a person dreaming in their sleep.

"Well I can tell the wires have pulled"

For this sentence, The narrator went to the past and remembering his old self to when he was good. The narrator returns to the present. His friend is screwed. And his selfishness stopped him from changing to good. The narrator realises that he is a monster and that there is nothing to do about it. This links well to the image of a shadow of the same person but a monster of himself.

"I'm having trouble in believing

And I just started seeing

Light at the beginning of the tunnel but he tells me that I'm dreaming

When he talks I hear his ghosts every word they say to me

I just pray the wires aren't coming"

For this chorus, this could possibly mean that the narrator feels like it is his own fault as he thinks that he didn't help him enough. He also thinks the wires are coming for him next. The light at the end of the tunnel could mean he is running away from the ghosts that are chasing him. For the images I used for this is a image of a ghost and a tunnel with light at the end.

"Straight to hell"

This sentence could just mean that now he has turned to the bad side, he is going straight to hell once he dies due to the bad things he has done and the good has pretty much left his body. This links well with the devil arm wrestling god as well as the image of just "Hell".

"The wires getting older I can hear the way they're creaking

As they're holding him"

 For this sentence, this could show that the "wires" as in the evil is holding him back to being successful in life which is making him turn evil. The image that illustrates this is a guy being pushed back by another person which resembles how the person who is pushing him away could be described as the "wire" that is stopping him from being successful.

"That all he ever wanted was a job"

For this sentence, this could be talking about how all this evilness that got to him was all because of how he just wanted to get a job and become successful in life however, the "wire" has screwed his life up and has turned him into a monster. This links to the images of "Jobs" and becoming successful.
