WDM Treatment Data Base Task

 Treatment 1:

In this treatment, the slides include how it was all set and how the audiences became apart of the music video shoot. Not only that but also setting the theme to a 90s theme with additional post production evidence on how they've edited the music video to make it stand out as a 90s theme.

Starting with the first slide, this slide talks about how it was set in a warehouse whilst doing a live performance to a crowd of people, the audiences came a part of the production as they were given old school camcorders in order to film the performance themselves. Those footage was successfully achieved as it helped to create a mixed-media mashup as if the viewer was part of the crowd. Overall making it enjoyable for the viewer and the actors as well as the crowd.

For the next slide, there is no music in this part, all it consists of three people, Danny, EI-P, and Killer Mike. All three make their way through separately by transport one by one. They've successfully made this to work by cutting the shots in between one of them walking in and out at a location for instance one of them walks down into a subway station, one gets in the back of a Cadillac sedan, and one climbs into the doors of a bus. Overall all giving it a more natural feel of the environment they're located in.

For the next slide, after the part where there was just ambient noise, the people arrive outside at a warehouse where a crowd is already waiting for them. Audiences had old camcorders in order to set a 90s atmosphere which is what they're aiming to do. All the recordings from the audiences perspective were used for their DIY and mixed media angles whilst Danny and RTJ walk towards the centre in the centre. The lighting has also been achieved successfully because, the lighting is only focussing towards the singers rather than the audiences making them to stand out the most.

For the next slide, the production crew have managed to create handheld shots in which to make it very energetic. All of this was done on purpose in order to make the viewer feel like they're a part of it. However, the pro camera team's footage will of course have a high quality finished recorded footage unlike the audiences but this was done on purpose in order to make the finished music video feel live and fun in order to have two different perspectives.

Next slide is about the editing. The editing crew have been playing around with all sorts of editing techniques in order to feel more interesting. Due to so many footage of different angles they would have to use things such as split-screens, layered video of multiple angles at once, and quick cuts between different types of shots overall making the viewer fit in towards the music video also.

Last slide talks about how they'll be giving out props in order to help produce this music video. Disposable cameras will be given to the crowd and making those photos as quick flashes of film. As they want to create a 90s theme, they'll have to lockdown any current generation electronics in order to not break their plans and theme for the music video.

Overall the most affective part about this would be how well and simple they've established their type of theme of music and how they would like to help the audiences by also using 90s gadgets in order to also have their perspectives also when they're recording. They've also told us that by doing this using the audiences perspective, it will allow to make the viewers be apart of the music video also. Also the whole explanation of each part of the slides was well executed also as it was easy to follow along and understand.

Treatment 2:

In this treatment, the slides included have been laid out as storyboards. This treatment is about an end of a relationship of these two young couples who have fallen in love as a result leaving a twist at the end that brings the stories together with an old couple. Firstly it shows both two different angles of a girl in her early-mid 20's walking through a diner as well as a young boy in his PJ's walking down the hall way of his house. Both are walking towards a male character for instance the girl is walking towards a handsome guy and the boy is walking to his dad. The intercut matching frames and actions continue to be used for its story telling device. Another example that was used is when the girl and the guy start slow dancing and then when we spin the circle around them as we pass his shoulder, we are brought into a transition of the family's living room and the spinning end as soon as the dad has starting spinning around with his son.

Overall the most affective part about this would be the whole transitioning by intercutting matching frames which allows it to have 2 different perspectives for complete different people but with similar contemporary video. The use of storyboard helped understand the whole scene from start to finish very well and executed well.

Treatment 3:

https://www.wedirectmusicvideos.com/individual-treatments/2019/7/3/young-thug-wyclef-jean-directed-by-ryan-staake

In this treatment, we are introduced about how Young Thug was already 5 hours late for their shooting and was also hacked on Instagram so he wouldn't get out of his car. This however, allowed the directors to use this as something progressive, self-aware, meta and above all attention grabbing. We then get told that in the next slide how, the story will be told in real time and Thug's missing appearance is made into a dotted line figure of Thug. This is great as it still shows some kind of humour and imagination of Thug being there. They then shot some details of the kids cars glinting under the sun as if it is some luxury car. They also decided to use a cop car for a destruction sequence with Thug in it however, Thug flew a kid in from Atlanta as he was late. All of the shootings were done as a joke whilst waiting for Thug to arrive however once he did arrive he never emerged out of his car once he got hacked.

Overall the most affective part about this would be how the directors still gone and done some recording of the video shoot even when the main actor isn't there they decided to make him a dotted figure for fun. The use of images provided were well presented also.

My top 3 tips for successful treatments are:

1. My first tip that I've realised not much has been used from my choses is the side headers. This will allow to have a better understanding of what this certain slide is going to be about.

2. My second  tip would be making the paragraphs simpler because, this will be less time consuming and also not having to cramp everything so close. Instead making it simple will allow the reader to understand much faster.

3. Make the letters stand out more by changing the colours and even fonts. This is so that it is easier to read as the words are usually on top of the pictures.
